He will have instructions, an investment plan, and a broker can execute for him over time. Trying to hide the device as he is programming the jump, he makes a mistake. Now he is decades back in time. The device takes several weeks to charge with solar energy. He is before his research dates and trapped.

When a murder is committed, he is suspected, being the stranger in town. The town doctor is investigating and doesn’t know what he is doing. The sheriff is only interested in fleecing the townspeople. Pat has to help with simple forensics and investigative methods he can remember to find the real killer, or he will hang. If he can’t solve the case, he needs to get his execution delayed so the device can charge and he can leave.

Time is no longer on his side. He has to remember basic science and what he learned on crime shows to solve this murder. He suspects there is a serial killer, but that makes it worse. Can he solve the murder, or will he become the next cadaver for the doctor to declare dead?
